KISSIMMEE, Fla., April 30, 9:30 am – To encourage utility customers to visit and use its newly revamped web site, the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) is sponsoring an online contest, beginning May 1, in which 10 lucky residential customers will have their current utility bill paid in full by the utility.
The utility web site – www.kua.com – allows customers to pay their bills online, update account information, check their energy consumption history, report a streetlight outage, calculate their monthly energy consumption, schedule a free home energy audit, check current job openings, or apply for a job.
“To improve the customer experience, we have placed many of our frequently-requested services on our web site,” said Chris Gent, KUA’s manager of corporate communications. “Those customers with a connection to the Internet can access these resources and eliminate their wait time on the telephone.”
KUA has also expanded the relocation section of its web site to allow relocating households to set up, transfer or disconnect their gas, cable TV, newspapers, telephone (local, long distance and wireless), Internet service, postal change of address and more. By filling out a few simple, secure online forms, customers can execute multiple transactions in a convenient, one-stop shopping environment.
An animated banner on the homepage of the utility’s web site directs visitors to the contest page where customers can simply type in their KUA account number to determine if they are a contest winner. Computers have also been set up in the lobby of KUA’s Carroll Street facility for customers without an Internet connection who wish to access the contest page.
KUA is Florida’s 6th largest community-owned utility serving 58,000 electric, water and Internet customers in four Central Florida counties. KUA celebrated its 100th year of serving the community in 2001.
