KISSIMMEE, Fla., November 16, 11:00 am – Internet users worldwide will be able to visit Kissimmee this weekend as part of a live event webcast of the 35th Annual Osceola Art Festival on November 17 & 18.

Visitors to a special web site –- http://artfest.kua.net –- will be able to watch the 2-day event using wireless video streaming equipment provided by KUA.net, the Internet division of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA). KUA.net will be able to support up to 1,000 viewers simultaneously across its network during the webcast.

“We had great success with our live webcast of the Viva Osceola Festival Latino in October,” said Chris Gent, KUA’s manager of corporate communications. “Over 1,600 Internet surfers from around the country tuned in to hear a variety of musical acts during the 7-hour event. This weekend’s art festival promises even more online visitors.”

In addition, KUA.net will offer a complimentary cyber café for those who wish to surf the World Wide Web or check personal e-mail while attending the art festival. The café will use KUA.net’s state-of-the-art wireless network that delivers data at 11 Mbps (11 million bits per second) –- 200 times faster than a standard 56k dial-up connection!

The Osceola Art Festival will run both days from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm in historic downtown Kissimmee. In addition to top notch art from artists around the country, the festival will feature an interactive children’s tent.

KUA is Florida‘s 7th largest community-owned utility serving 53,000 electric, water and Internet customers in four Central Florida counties. KUA is celebrating its 100th year of serving the community in 2001.
