KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 13, 1:30 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) continues to send repair crews to areas of Florida hardest hit by Hurricane Frances. On Tuesday, the utility will send linemen to the Fort Pierce, Fla. area to assist with power restoration efforts.

The linemen will leave Tuesday morning to assist Fort Pierce Utilities Authority for several days in restoring power directly into homes and businesses. Approximately 9,800 of FPUA’s 28,000 customers are still without power.

Six KUA crews worked September 8-10 completing power restoration in Lakeland. Over the weekend, KUA line workers traveled to Gainesville to help restore electric service to residents of Alachua County.

KUA completed power restoration to 21,100 of its own customers in Kissimmee on September 7.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric service to 58,000 customers in Osceola County.
