Linemen Will Help Restore Power in Ft. Pierce

KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 25, 10:00 a.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) will send repair crews to south Florida today to assist with power restoration in areas devastated by Hurricane Wilma.

As part of its mutual-aid agreement with utilities throughout the state, KUA will send crews, vehicles and supplies to assist Fort Pierce Utilities Authority with power restoration. The crews will depart at noon today from KUA’s service center, located at 2850 N. John Young Parkway in Kissimmee.

The hurricane left 94 percent of Fort Pierce’s 25,000 residents without electric service.

KUA completed power restoration to 4,756 of its own customers in Kissimmee on Monday.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
